I WAS BORN AT the beautiful sea town Evpatoria (Crimea, Ukraine). So, like all natives, I very love the sea and too rare can see it.
I always liked to draw. When I was very little I wanted, of course, to be a doctor to make shots... But all other time (till now) I was sure that would become an artist. Once a relative of mine stuck me with a question: "You want to be an artist? Bun you'll have to smell paints all life! And they're smelling bad..." I answered that agreed to smell paints all life because they aren't smelling bad but well.
Then I studied at the art school for children, then graduated The Crimean Art School.
Creative process - it's very interesting even if result doesn't satisfy. At first there're zero ideas and you're exerting hard and then ideas are falling one by one and you're to pick out those a few which are really needed. I remember a phrase of one famous painter: "Painting - it's very easy, you need to take needed color and put it upon needed place".
Today I'm keen on batik. I like in it delicacy of silk and unpredictableness of paint, clearness of wax outline and impossibility of repetitions.
Certainly, any creative person can't restrict himself inside one thing, just not always you can realize your ideas. I like to invent household things, interiors... When I see something that I don't like then I think out what it could be. Sometimes it so absorbs that it's hard to fall asleep. Also I'm not indifferent to graphics. I like both experiments and classics.
In general all my works move on to my friends' and acquaintances' homes. I like to make presents. But now I've decided to collect something on the site. I propose you come back time to time to this little exhibition of mine because new works will be added to it. I'll be glad if dear visitor share his opinion on seen.
Best wishes! Olga Pravdina
